• El Mamsha (tourist promenade) — upscale, seafront living, higher prices
• El Ahyaa — quieter, more residential, good value
• El Dahar (downtown) — cheapest, most "local Egyptian" feel, chaotic but authentic
• Sahl Hasheesh — luxury resort area south of Hurghada, premium pricing

• Maadi — green, quiet, large expat community, international schools. Mid-to-high range
• Zamalek — island district, upscale, walkable, great restaurants and cafes
• New Cairo / Fifth Settlement — modern compounds, malls, feels like a different country
• 6th of October City — affordable, spacious, but far from central Cairo
• Downtown Cairo — cheap, central, noisy, not for everyone
